Nah I wouldn’t settle for any less options … this ZLE will be a keeper for me because we won’t see another V8 supercharged Camaro in the future so it’s gotta be exactly how I want it.I don’t mind waiting an extra few months to get the options that I ordered. To each their own though.

Even if you dont like the features PDR adds no weight and you will have a lot more trouble selling to private party without, here are few options on ZLEs and PDR may be the only option that is a deal breaker for ZLE buyers shopping new and used.

I use the PDR for autox and find it incredibly valuable in analyzing the data for runs or runs that other people took if they duel drove my car. It is very convenient to use and Toolbox is helpful in figuring out strategies to go faster. I also use it on mountain rides. I would not buy one of our cars without it. However, if you are not competing, or you are not concerned about selling your car in the future to someone like me, you can safely pass on that option.

I've had it on a C7, C7 GS, and now a ZLE. I used it once on the original C7 to see what it was all about. Super gimmicky and the data logged was near worthless to see how I can improve. Since then I've just used real data loggers and moved those from car to car. Good job making an ass out of yourself though.

Update: there is not much optimism that the PDR will be available in 2022. I decided to order the ZL1 1LE without the PDR. I initially ordered the car in February 2021 at dealer #1, my order got pushed to a 2022 model in June (so I changed the color to vivid orange metallic) and waited for an allocation there until November. One of the 6 dealers I had kept in contact with advised me they should have one of the first two 2022 ZLE allocations, the only two ZLE's being built in the calendar year 2021 btw. So dealer #2 came through (I think) and my car will be built the last week of December 2021. Finally, I had to negotiate with dealer #2 to only pay sticker price for this car. Honestly, I have worked my butt off just to get the opportunity to get in a line so I can have the privilege of having Chevrolet build me a car that I must pay full sticker price for. Once that badass ZLE arrives however, all will be right in my Camaro world!! And I plan to drive it off of the showroom floor.
Now if Chevrolet would just put that C8 Corvette Z06 engine in the front end of the last year Camaro with a 6 speed manual tranny and call it a Z/28.....

Because the original owners spec'd it with it. If the same vehicles didn't have them, I would've still bought them. In fact, I think the C7s without PDRs are more practical. They get front parking sensors instead so you don't have to combat park everywhere.

I have a 2021 ZL1\1LE with PDR and I have NEVER been to the track. I got the 1LE package and the PDR, because it looks cool - -

Thanks for being honest and admitting why you got the 1LE package. I imagine most owners added it because it looks better and don’t actually track their cars. If you keep the car it will be collectible once the Camaro meets its demise.

It’s worth it for the PDR. When I got my car, that was a must. Is it as awesome as some of the more professional data loggers? No, but I’ve read if you get the Cosworth software (non-gm version) there is a ton more data to be had. For the casual track racer, it’s a great tool and does way more than you’ll need.

Dude ! Buy the car you’ll kick you self in the ass later if the reason you didn’t buy it was because of a video recorder. New Production ZL1’s will soon be extinct!

I agree. I just spoke to my dealership and asked them to create a new order without the PDR.....but keeping the original order just in case. I'll buy both! I just ordered a Garmin Catalyst to offset the PDR. Don't get me wrong, I think the integration of OBDII data into the video is awesome, but Im more than happy to sacrifice that for a brand new 22 ZLE.
