Another Twin Turbo breaks the Gen6 Record 8.03@170

Over the weekend there was another recording breaking run of 8.03@170 which is about 3 tenths quicker then Kevin Martins run last month. It was a Cordes performance build. Here is the current list

In 4800 DA no less...?!? Wowzers... I'd take points off for the TH400 personally since you know it's really not a street car anymore, but still a nasty car no matter how you slice it.

Agreed! Getting the TCM and A8/A10 transmissions to do what we want them to do at this level is quite the challenge, but worth the effort IMO.

Definitely not ripping the record holder at all, it's damn impressive, I guess we all have different ideas of what constitutes a Gen6 Camaro. I feel like a PowerGlide or TH400 makes for a Gen2 Camaro. And in America no one has to give a crap about what I think.

But to each their own of course. Great that we can have civil discourse on it at the end of the day and we have different builds to suit the different goals we have for our own cars.

This is impressive from my perspective. When I can get away from work I help out with my friends Ultra Car. It takes a lot to get down the track like you’re doing. Congratulations!

Some people just want to go beat on their car and not worry about when the trans is going to go, at this power level the A8/A10 isn't going to work for long if at all. The chosen transmission just defines the car's intended purpose and it's doing exactly what it is setup for.

Hell my glide setup in the C6Z works great on the freeway.

Tim King says his built A8 was holding 1700 WHP so that would seem to be doing the job.

Are you suggesting a glide is a good freeway transmission...? Lol

Ask how many times it's been rebuilt and how many weekends you get out of it you will have your answer.

I guess it's all relative, if all I knew was an mid-upper 9 second car maybe I would have a difference of opinion.

Again, no disagreement about what people do with their cars. If the car is now a dedicated drag racing car, great. But let’s not pretend PG/TH400 are street transmissions. They’re race transmissions, period. And not 6th Gen Camaro components. But to each their own.

Not 6th gen camaro components? Not street transmissions? If you want to play that game neither are aftermarket wheels, tires, cams, heads, fuel systems, injectors, blowers and turbos, blah blah blah. PG/TH400s were normal street transmissions at their inception and are used in just about every single higher horsepower car that gets driven on the street. You don't get to pick and choose to suit your argument.
