Infotainment thinks it’s in the Mid East on startup

Happened a couple of weeks ago. Every time the car starts it defaults to Arabic(?). I can call up the language display and select English but it reverts back after the next start cycle. Any ideas, besides relocating to Saudi Arabia ?

Did you buy the car new or used? If it's still within warranty, I'd just bring it to a dealer for an infotainment reflash.

My Canadian spec car has English, French and Spanish and that's it. I'd think American spec is similar with possible exclusion of French. If you bought the car used, then there is a chance that the car was originally meant for Middle East market but ended up where you live one way or another.

Seriously, that is weird. Looks like a trip to the dealership service department is the only answer I have other than trying a reboot by disconnecting the battery negative terminal for a few hours and then re-connecting.

Brand new. Special ordered. Took delivery in March. Only 2000 miles

Only the three languages as options for me too. French, English and Spanish.

One day when I started up my 2010 SS it was in Arabic. Never happened again. I blame Al Qaeda and WMDs.

Also apple car play still shows up in English.

I wonder if you change it to something like Spanish than back to English if that would help?

I remember seeing this thread from a few years back. apparently been going on since early 5th gens. Not much info here though. Except last post mentions battery issue.
