Like others said, I bet Ford is waiting to announce their ring times. Probably around the ZL1 launch date to take all the wind out of their sails just like they did with the 650 Hp announcement.
No doubt this is what they are doing, 2013 GT500 production starts in the summer, they will want to time their announcement to deliver a final blow to the ZL1. That is if they are able to beat the time, which I honestly wouldn't be surprised about...

Still no times? Maybe soon as the weather should be getting better?

Waiting to see those times as well. I'm betting they will be better than ZL1 times.

Since the ring speed runs aren't officially sanctioned/governed/monitored and validated by an official third party, who the crap cares about those times? No production version of the ZL1 will ever match the time the pre-production car did, ever! I know a lot of people who buy these type of cars to thrash on weekends for fun and not a single one ever talk about a useless ring time as the deciding factor. Give me VIR, Laguna Seca, Infenion/Sears Point.

That's the problem. It would be too hard to give times for tracks Road Course guys officially visit - so I guess they use The Ring and that other track they have out in Milton Ohio I believe. I would want Homestead Miami Speedway, Sebring, Palm Beach International, Daytona, Road Atlanta and AMP.

Contrary to popular belief, GM and Ford are in the business of selling cars. Bragging rights are typically only the concern of consumers and websites/forums. In two cars with such a small demographic of buyers as the ZL1 and GT500, I'd guess there's not going to be too much cross shopping going on; at least not enough to make any dent into the bottom line of either company.

It's only the die-hard Camaro and Mustang fans that really seem to put any stock in having bragging rights between the two cars. Wasted energy IMO.
I know this post is old, but the comment is somewhat naive. The old addage race on Sunday sell on Monday applies to every venue of racing or speed challenges for US and all other auto manufacturers. Thousands and thosands of fans watch NASCAR races every week and no one can buy one of those cars, but when the manufacturer posts the wins, sales for that brand of car benefit. Toyota races in those events and certainly not because they enjoy it...they don't make an OHV engine and haven't made a carbureted car in 30 or 40 years...so why do they race...because it sells cars (probably trucks more than cars).

In case you didn't know it, this Forum and others like it are where the sales for performance cars gain thousands of purchases and winning makes a big difference as well as lap times at Nurburgring. If you don't believe it, do a search for Nurburgring threads on this forum. For a while, some ZL1 buyers were abandoning their purchase desire because they heard on this forum that the GT500 would be faster. Just my opinion.
