If everything works out well enough, would be adding a cam and TCM unlock with a tune as well.
Out of curiosity.....why did you go to cbi over katech since you live in Michigan?

Ding dong the run flats are gone. Had the Conti DWS06's installed this morning. Really happy with them so far even though rain ended my cruise early and kept me from running my favorite canyon pass. Even speed bumps are more pleasant to deal with.

Yup, it says 5w-30 Dexos R, of which there is none yet, AFAIK.

Page 237.

If you were reading 236, that's for the 4/6 which says 5w-30 Dexos 1
.

Maybe a typo, but that is what it says.

Okay, let me try to steer this away from the endless oil weight back and forth: I've just installed a GM carbon fiber shift knob on my car, a nice little touch to the interior. Best of all, I managed to install it with zero damage or scratches to anything in the car, yay. What a long way from my early days with my Grand Am, back then I was afraid to change a bulb, heck, even to pop the hood, no kidding.

That said, there is always a lesson or two to learn, this time it was that there is simply no way around manhandling the shift knob for removal, the plastichrome ring between the boot and the leather wrapped top section of the knob is practically impossible to remove with the knob still on the shaft, no matter what youtube says.

In order to spread the hog ring holding the knob in place, the ring would have to come off, but there is simply no vertical room inside unless a very special tool exists for this single purpose. The good news is that the knob comes off with medium force, no danger to the screen or anything else, and then the plastichrome ring can be removed using two small flatheads or picks that can act as wedges.

Bet it goes well with your wheel!

I need to have mine warrantied when I go in, the ZL1 was faded from the factory. Kinda confused how QC missed it.

Very nice! I have the same one but been putting off install since I’d have to take apart the knob to swap the covers instead. I want to keep the suede and combine it with the CF top

Thanks, brother.

Replacing the cover will be two extra steps, there is a black plastic frame you need to remove (before accessing the two screws holding the cover in place), which I'd be a bit wary about because it's visible and no matter what you wedge between it and the knob, I have no idea how not to scrape it.

Good to know, I'll have to keep this in mind. I want to replace my shift knob with one of these sometime soon. Mine has several dings in it from the previous owner, which drives me crazy because I take good care of my stuff. Not even sure how you'd make those small dings in it.

Price is the big reason, the second reason is they were referred to me by a Camaro person on here.

I know Katech is known in the industry, but they are almost 2 times more expensive than Livernois, and I don't want Livernois to do the work for me either.

The last reason is because I don't like the fact some of these shops lock out the ECM after tuning, which forces you to go to them for any further tuning needs. I don't like having my hands tied behind a pay wall.

Did the same thing over the weekend in my ZL1. I have them in my 1LE too. Best all season mats available.

I did the same thing in mine. I also had them in my 2018, which was totaled. I regret not taking them out because they still looked new after 4 years.
