Hey all couple things......
1) any feedback on the factory cold air intake for the V6 from anyone?
2) why is there no strut tower brace for the V6, is it because the height of the engine in the the engine bay?

I checked into it, and all I can tell you is that there's no MAF recalibration setup for the 2018 V6. For the 2016 and 2017 yes, but not for us apparently.

so if I buy it I dont have to take it in to have the recalibration done? Just install and go?

From what I understand the GM one needs the MAF recalibration in order to work right

the car has strut braces that connect to the rear of the engine bay ...there's just not a single bar that connects both sides of the struts.

My guess is that it's just not necessary. If the V6 1Le doesn't need a strut brace like you are talking about to perform as well it does at the track (which has plenty of turns and it takes them much faster than you can on any public road) then I'm pretty sure we dont need it. If you want it for eye candy, i'm sure something could be done, but it would probably interfere with removing the stock engine cover so you may need a modified version of that.

tldr: it's not necessary. I'd just look at the v6 1le for any racing suspension needs/wants and build accordingly. Would be hard to justify doing much different.

you make good points.....very true. The 1Le would come with one if it was needed. Well, that's money saved lol
Now to find out about the tune on the CAI.

If you find out something different about the GM factory CAI for the 18 V6 please let me know. Because this was the only reason I didn't get one

You could probably have it tuned by Will/Overkill but I can tell you the car won't run very well without a calibration with that intake. If you want a closed box you can always go for the AFE, a lot of people have also gone with the K&N CAI. Neither of those two will mess with the air fuel ratio as much as the GM version and should be fine to run without a tune.
