Cost to install GMPP lowering and swaybar kit at local GM dealership

2017 1SS.

I received a quote from the service adviser from local dealership for the installation of both kits at the same time. The price he quoted me sounded way too high (parts + 20 hrs labor).

I was wondering what others who have had this done paid? Thanks in advance!

20 hours, wow. Takes me around 4-5 to do a spring install on jack stands, very easy on this car. Maybe another 2 for sway bars since so much has to be removed on this car to get to them.

This is what I got as a quote, and what ended up being reality. 20 hours is outright bananas.

84401188 Sway Bar $495
Installed time 3.5 hours $248.50
---------------
Total $743.50

84203549 Lowering springs/shocks $1,125
Installed time 5 hours $355
-------------
Total $1,480

Thanks you guys.

Shawn, those are exactly the numbers I would have guessed if I had to ball-park it.

I'll talk to the service manager at the dealership to make sure my service adviser isn't

A friend of mine told me he just paid $1k to have the 1le kit installed at Abel chevy in rio vista. They also price matched the kit he saw online for $1100

They also gave him a free loaner car to drive home and back from Valley Springs in Calavaras county!

I'll be checking them out when if I decide to do the same

Very nice!

So, as it turns out, the service adviser I was talking to had it all wrong. He quoted me an amount of labor that was way too high. I have an appt this coming Tuesday for an unrelated issue, but I will be seeing about getting both of those kits installed at the same time.

I'll more than likely start a separate thread about this.

Thanks for all of the information regarding your experiences with this.

Optimize your vehicle's handling with this Suspension Lowering System. It lowers vehicle's ride height by up to 20mm. Components include front and rear coil springs, front struts, rear shocks and replacement fasteners. (Available exclusively on SS Coupe models. Not available on vehicles equipped with 18-inch wheels.). This product replaces 84188726

That's the kit I've been wanting for my SS. Just been weary of screwing up how it rides.
