Dealer installed 3.91 gears price

What kind of price should I be expecting having a dealership install 3.91 gears with the speedometer update?

I'm assuming he needs them to do all of the work. I paid $300 as well but took them the parts and the differential

I had an estimate last year and it was $1000.00 including parts to install 3.91 gear on the car.

You can get an entire new 3rd member with 3.91and LSD for like $1800 or so? Speedo calibration is handle by your tuner(should do it for free IMHO)...

I don't think Chevy will do the speedo calibration if you have an after market tune.

Why not just toss a 1LE rear diff in? They have the 3.91 gears and can be found used for $900-$1000

I bought my 3.91 diff from iamgmparts.com for $1353 + $100 in shipping. Cheapestgmparts.com also has them for a comparable all in price.

I bought one with around 9k miles off the classified section here to have as a spare for track events. now that the season is over I was going to sell it but the person that said they wanted it disappeared.
