Solos w/ J-Pipes here (no cam and stock exhaust otherwise). Nice deep strong tone. Zero drone.

There are pictures of a cutaway muffler somewhere... but I can't remember where. Google would be your friend. Make sure it is the LS3 as I think the L99's muffler might be a little different.

By looking at the pictures it is easy to figure out where the plate is.

If you devise a way to fix it, post it up!

Flowmaster Force II

If you want another recommendation...I'm running the Flowmaster Force II axle-back. Completely drone free with straight pipes and longtube headers. Not too many people know about this system...

Is it loud...because I feel straight pipes will be way to loud with headers and cam.

No it is not too loud. However, it is louder than the stock system, but when compared to most aftermarket systems (due to the unique baffling design that eliminates drone) it is significantly quiter when running cat-less with longtubes. I'd recommend this system to anyone that doesn't like drone and doesn't want a system that disturbs the neighbors (at least too much anyway...).

Yea I drilled the hole, well about 3 holes before I could get to the plate..it's what is definitely rattling and there really is nothing you can do...seems you might can cut a big hole to get to it and maybe weld the cutout back on..I don't know...think I'm about to order the corsa catback I see a good deal on..

Yes, I believe the j pipe is for canceling the sound from the four cylinder mode of the l99. The l99 Also has a much larger resonator.

Those are some scary pictures. They should be a sticky. This is why you get aftermarket exhaust...
