Still debating getting 3.91 gears
Just not sure if I want to do this...have a cam upgrade so should I or shouldn't I?
Are adding gears harder on the engine? Also might want to get supercharged later on and have heard not to do gears if that's the plan.. With a cam, what do you guys think?

if going sc i wouldnt bother. The gears are going to make it easier on the engine. If I were you id probably do the cam and wait on the gears. If you are sure your going sc dont bother with the gears.

Depends on the supercharger. 3.89s in my 9" was the best move I made with my car so far. I have an ECS blower and pretty rowdy cam.

If you are planning of adding a supercharger 3.91 might be a little much. 3.73 would be a good option though. If you have not done any suspension upgrades you should probably focus on that before you get the supercharger or gears though.

3.91 gears in a cammed Camaro really wakes it up. There's a couple videos on youtube of a bolt-on 3.91 5th gen outrunning a cam and stock geared 5th gen. Both were M6's. I'd think you'd be fine with the gear and blower as long as you're not making insane power. You should be fine below 675whp.

Thx for the replies...on a budget, so what suspension upgrades do you recommend for the cam and gears apex?

My cammed car on 3.91s hurts a lot of blower cars at the track.
Best mod for an auto

I'm running a 3.91 in a cammed car and I love it. Several people who have ridden in my car now have 3.91s in their cars.
It probably is a bit much for a supercharged car but if you're staying NA then the gear will be the best thing you ever did for the car.

Installing my supercharger next week. Already have 3.91, which I think will work well with a mild moderate SC install up to 575 HP. Buddy's is set up same way, head snapping to say the least.

I am auto with cam/ heads/ 3800/ and 3.91 gears. If I did a supercharger I'd be in 5th at the track. Too much gear.
