The engine does move around a little when getting on and off the throttle so having just a little slack in the cable for that is a good thing too.
Glad I ordered a 21"

Read the edit and update on my first post. Bottom line is if you use the engine bolt I used then Do Not take the bolt all the way out.

Looks like a good deal of about $2 a foot and about $2 for the connectors. I wonder if they will throw in another inch or so and crimp the connectors too.🤔

They do. I looked at the site after I already ordered from another site. I would've saved $5. You buy it by the inch.

I believe 3/8 would be just about right.

I'm ordering one this spring. If it can indeed be order by the inch I'm getting it in 22" and 3/8 connector.😉Looks like we can save over selves about 30 bucks.🤑

I just received my ground cable today just wondering if anybody has looked under the car to see if there's another mounting point to the engine block for the grounding cable.

I thought about it because I think there are a couple on the sides of the block but since I had to replace my tensioner anyways I just used that spot.

I looked several times for a different spot but could not find anything. So, I chose the tensioner mount bolt. It is not ideal since taking the bolt out all the way is a pain because if you do you are going to have to remount the belt tensioner and reset the belt tension. My solution to just notch the cable lug and make it U shaped to slide it under that bolt has worked very well. I have checked it several times and the cable stays secure. If anyone finds a better engine mount location - please share.

I just installed the cable today does anyone know if that bolt is long enough not to cause any problems in the future? If it works I'm a look for a place under the car to mount the cable if anyone else has any other ideas let me know.

Update! Drove the car 30 minutes after installing the cable on a 55 degree day. Stopped the first time after 20 minute drive waited 4 minutes started with no issues. Then I drove an additional 15 minutes pretty hard to put some heat in the engine came home parked in my garage where this problem is always the worst waited five minutes car started fine no issues.

The bolt has a lot of thread so if you slip the cable lug under it like I did then I can't see any issues with the bolt slipping or failing somehow.

Great news! Where did you finally decide to connect the engine end of the cable?

I also drove mine about 35 miles round trip today with 4 short stops. I continue to have no starting issues.
