So...anybody taken their SS 1LE to the drag strip?

My buddy bought one in December and went with me to the drag strip last week. DA was just okay, like around 800. I ran over a nail on the way there, so I couldn't run. But, he made three passes. He had a M6 '16 SS before this car, he said this one was easier to launch (not sure if due to tires or eLSD, or both?). His best pass was a 12.38 @ 115.xx. He didn't use launch control, and he did use no lift shift he told me. He thinks it has another tenth in it at at least with more practice. I am trying to get him to join, but he is not "into the forum thing" he said. Just figured I pass along the info to you guys...

Anybody else hit the drag strip?

I'm hoping to this fall. Don't have my 1LE yet. Biggest issue I have will be loading it on my trailer. I'm sure the nose hangs down too far and will drag when loading. I'll have to come up with something. Wife will shoot me if I try to buy a new trailer to go with the new car!

I wonder if with tuning, the line lock feature could be enabled. Also wonder if the Mag Ride couple be reconfigured for drag racing - looser front valving and stiffer rear. Replace tour mode with settings for drag racing! Just a thought!

I will take mine most likely, once I put more miles on it and it's the cool season down here. But that probably won't be till the "winter" next January or so. I am thinking it will be relatively easy to launch as well, especially on a sticky track. As even on the street if it's a warm day out the car hooks amazingly well...these tires and eLSD just do an amazing job of putting the power down with no drama.

Cheaper than a new trailer ....I *think* there are cheaper alternatives out there.

Laying a few 2x12 boards on the ground in front of the trailer ramps might get the nose up enough to drive the rest of the way on and off the trailer. You would want to be careful that they didn't slip out while you are driving on them.
