SeaFoam Thread.....AGAIN...SC120 In here
Lol Sorry guys, alright so I am pulling my car out of winter storage tomorrow and want to Seafoam the engine but I have just two questions
1. Will it do more harm then good? Seeing as how my valves are deeply coated, will the carbon deposits do more damage then any good or should seafoam be ok? The manual calls for an engine top cleaner at 40k Km. 2. Will the seafoam affect or warp my Black Ice from RX? Thanks guys

All I have to say is I have been seafoaming mine for a while now with no issues. And I have the insulator. If you never done it before I would definitely do it at least once.

Its a carbon deposit cleaner. Cleans fuel systems as well as valves.
First time doing it but think I messed up LOL SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooo Alright so I did what the instructions were. Warm up car. Then mount onto throttle body, then mount intake back on and spray for two to three minutes while car idled at 1500rpm. Saw a bunch of smoke starting to spew out, saw just about three minutes and stopped spraying. Let it idle down and shut off the car. I went to remove the intake and a big puddle of cleaner poured out. Didnt seem like a big deal, as I really didnt spray too much just in fear or hydrolocking the engine. Anyways here is where I am a bit afraid, I have a Vararam Air intake, and it seems like quite a bit of seafoam got into the lower belly and worse, it seems to have sprayed on to the maf So I dried it out and mounted the intake back on the car and did the whole revving and driving for a few miles. Brought the car back. Had zero issues, but I know it did go on the maf, should I be concerned? And wonder if the seafoam is corrosive on the Vararam. Anyone know? Please help. As for the Car, for the first few minutes of driving the car, it felt strong, but then it felt kinda weak. Hard to explain so dont know if Maf is scaling too much or too little, or maybe its all in my head.

I would definitely recommend it for these engines. My Camaro produced traffic stopping smoke with 13,000 on the ODO where as my GTO gave me a few puffs at 60,000. Go with the stuff that has the tube you can spray into the throttle body. Makes it a heck of a lot easier.

Just get a can of MAF cleaner and spray it off if you want.

Putting me on the spot huh lmao! Sounds like a good idea, I will make one on tomorrow or Monday since our engine isn't really covered in any of the C5 DIY videos. I think our engine is simpler as we can spray through that side IM port. I'm do for a oil change anyway.
