Picked up an F150
Been car "shopping" for a while in all different segments. This will definitely put my Camaro purchase on hold, but I'll probably be shopping for a Camaro or Vette in a few years.
Didn't test drive any other trucks. Didn't want a RAM and I don't think GM had strong incentives this month.. At least that's what the dealer told me. Finally got rid of the Mustang and they knocked off over 13k from the F150. Let's hope this holds up better interior wise than Mustang. :biggrin |

Some people want the best vehicle for the money and their particular application of said vehicle and couldn't care less what the brand is.

I loved my 2011 FX4 fully loaded F-150. The only issue I had with it was trouble with the 3.5 liter ecoboost engine. I would never buy that motor again, but I love the truck. Congrats

Thank you. I picked up a 5.0. Want to keep it long term and trust it more I guess.

Good move! I hate my ecoboost engine. It has 133k almost 134k on my '13 and it's gas mileage is junk, the turbo lag is awful, and I just don't like my truck sounding like a swing machine instead of a truck. Enjoy your new ride!

I've had a GMC and Chevrolet truck and I will say that I love my F150 heads and shoulders above anything else. I drove a RAM and the quality of the interior on the RAM could not come close to the Ford.

A buddy picked up a 2016 Sierra as well recently so I'll get to compare.. His is better loaded so that aspect of it will definitely be better.
The transmission in F150 is not disappointing, but it's not great. Overall, very satisfied so far. |

I switched to an F150 and have no regrets except I miss the triple cup holder! The 5L feels nicer, sounds awesome w/o being overly loud, easily out runs my old 5.3L and it's holding up fine. The interior is notably better impo and it lacks the rattles and squeaks I'd grown used to in my Silverado, which is still in the family, btw.
I've no interest in the 3.5L ecoboost either, but the 2.7L is interesting. Everything I have read or heard about it suggests it gets all of its rated fuel economy and makes more power and torque than rated. I prefer V8's in general. I would have bought another Silverado, but I only wanted a crew cab and I did not want to buy 1 built in Mexico. I actually like the Ram 1500, particularly the diesel. However, I did not like that dial shifter. Besides, it reminded me of molasses each time I hit the throttle. CONGRATULATIONS! I think you'd be happy with any, as long as you initially decided it was worth buying. They all hold up these days and it's really just a matter of personal choice. |
