Same thing on the net elsewhere... https://www.yahoo.com/autos/s/2016-c...153000353.html

Some of us really nailed down the roughly 2k increase. I'm just curious about the 2SS... 40k, no doubt.

Don't forget Additional Dealer Markup that some financial idiots will pay...

I'm betting there will be many an ADM payer in the beginning. So a $40k 2016 Camaro is likely a 1LT for some.

Example:

Ya think? 40k for a 1LT? Nah... this is a purely mass produced vehicle. The Hellcat is hardly in the same category. With a MSRP around 27k, 40 is... nearly the same amount over MSRP as the Hellcat... which starts nearly 40k higher. I don't see any ADM for any V6 Camaro, ever. If it got one, I'd be stunned and even so, nothing like 15k. That's over 1/2 the MSRP... just wouldn't make sense even to dealers!!

You live under a rock? Where were you when the ordering desk opened for the 2010 Camaro? 5-10K markups were commonplace, with only a handful of dealerships offering GM employee discount prices or MSRP deals. Most wanted some sort of markup on any and ALL Camaros, regardless of engine.

Of course, the 5th gen was hotter than the 6th gen will ever be, so although there are going to be some dealers initially trying to milk ADM's wherever they can, I don't think it will be as long as the 5th gen ADM run, nor quite so steep. (there were dealers in southern California still wanting ADM in 2011) I'm betting though you won't be able to get your hands on some of the first bare bones 6 cyl models for less than 30K, unless it's at a good dealership that deals in volumes.

Oh, there WILL be markups...there WILL. Never underestimate the sliminess of some dealerships.
