Also look at the proven mods available for the 5th Gen! It will take the 6th Gen some time to get that level of selection. I'll also be watching at some feedback on the DI issues.

There are a lot of reasons to buy a 2015 Camaro.
1.) Maybe you prefer the look of the 5th Gen vs the 6th Gen. 2.) The 5th Gen has a proven record of excellent reliability. The 6th Gen may be full of bugs the first year for all we know. It is a risk. 3.) Maybe you want a good ol' fashioned LS3 basic pushrod motor and don't want the newer, more expensive technology of the LT1. 4.) Maybe you'll acquire a 5th Gen at fire sale prices. It is not out of the realm of possibility you will be able to get a brand new 5th Gen 2SS for $10,000 less than a brand new 6th Gen 2SS. There are plenty of good reasons to buy a 2015 Camaro. But it all comes down to the individual. For me, personally, the 2014 redesign never grew on me and I still resent the changes. I think the general public will wait patiently and 2015 will continue to be a disappointing sales year for the Camaro. But the low sales and biased guys like me are what will likely create incredible closeout prices for those that want to jump on board and get what's still a fantastic vehicle for a fantastic price. Me, personally, if I have my way I won't be in the market til 2018. The soonest I'd be looking to "upgrade" is to a lightly used 2017 - I don't want the first year model run for personal "fear releated" reasons, and I really want to see if GM does something special for the 50th Anniversary. I also don't buy new - I want a car with 5,000 miles on it So ultimately, maybe my opinion doesn't matter much.

Get the car cheap, put some more power in it and then save the rest of your cash for something else. I'm throwing a blower on my 2014 so not too worried about any performance gaps. People seem to trade out cars like they do phones. My 5th gen is a permanent member of the family. I'll just throw another engine in it when I want something new.

The alphmaro is nice, styling does nothing for me, I'll wait for the first styling change and incentives, too pricey right now to be an early adopter.

I hope for GM's sake the 6th sells well. I actually think it won't but hope I'm wrong. I know they said when they designed it they got a lot of feedback from 5th owners as to what they would like. I think they tried too hard to nail the items on the "list" and it made the car confusing looking. IMHO....
I really don't like the side window it just looks awkward to me but my opinion may evolve as I start to see them. On the other hand a fully loaded 6th 2SS may not be far off the price of a clearance ZL-1 at some point soon & I would take the Z hands down! again a personal opinion. To those that got good deals on 15's I think that was a good move. |

I'm curious if seeing one in person changes my mind. Pics don't do some cars justice, and they do other cars favors

Haha true. I think the Camaro looks better in the flesh than in photos so perhaps the 6th will too... But I'm keeping my 5th as I don't drive it enough now so no need for something new.

I'm not a complete fan of the 6th gen aesthetically, much like most people. But that's only because it looks like a massaged 5th gen with C7ish tail lights. GM went the safe route with the car. It still looks too much like the previous generation. Much like the Mustang, they didn't take enough risks and you still wind up with this retro/modern hybrid crap.
They should have left the 5th gen behind and walked in with a fresh design, similar to how they did the C7 but, more so.

The 16's huge lower grille ruins the looks of the car in my opinion, GM could have done much better in designing something without the Mazda/ Ford looking grille . Glad I have a Gen 5

If Chevy is offering a big discount on new '15s then I don't see why anyone would not buy one. If you really want a '16 then a discount won't matter, but this is a great time to buy a 5th gen if you are a fan.
