Criswell Salesman Recommendation?
I’ve been waiting for four months locally with two different dealers, so I’m ready to place a third order with a big dealer in hopes to have something for the summer. Does anyone recommend a particular person for Criswell?

If I had to order another Camaro I think that I would call as many dealers in a certain radius from me, leave my ph# and tell them to call when they got an allocation. I actually got an allocation from the 2nd dealer that I spoke with that saved my ph# so i cancelled the order from the first one after waiting 2 months with no allocation. Good luck. |

I did the radius thing… I ended up just placing orders with the closest “Gold” dealer to me and an order with the largest volume Corvette dealer in my metro area. Criswell is the closest “big name” dealer to me - plus I used to live by them. I sent a message to their website a few days ago for a call back but guessing it doesn’t get checked or they didn’t take me seriously. I’ll take a look at your suggestion.

Criswell gets a lot of Corvettes but they are not a known Camaro dealer. I would suggest going somewhere else or you may be waiting a long time for that allocation. Are you opposed to buying out of your area and having the car shipped? |

I’m working with Russel at Criswell. He’s been straight forward so far. He told me it would take around 6 months, and so far that’s lining up. I can’t blame the salesman for crappy Chevy shipping.

I’m open to making a mini vacation out of it. Not ideal, but would make it work to have the car this summer.

I purchased and factory ordered my 2019 Corvette Grand Sport from Mike Furman at Criswell. I was very happy with Mike and the dealership as far as delivery, efficiency, price, and making sure the car was properly prepped. I live in Virginia and they offered to register the car with Virginia plates. I asked Mike when I ordered the car if they could get me a special "State Seal" Virginia plate. Sure enough I had a lady from their customer service dept call me prior to delivery to confirm exactly what type of plate I wanted. That's attention to detail you rarely find in any purchase. Mike also attended the Ron Fellows Corvette owner track school when I did adding to the pleasure of my purchase from Mike.
I factory ordered my 2023 Camaro 2SS through Mike Furman in December. Just like with my Corvette, about a 30 minute sit down, very straight forward. The delivery on my Corvette was about 30 minutes, paperwork an all. I am hoping to have the Camaro delivered in April for the spring. The Luxury of Simplicity and transparency. I highly recommend Criswell and Mike Furman. |

Thank you everyone for your comments on Criswell. As of now, they're out of the running based on my conversation with Mike.
I reached out saying "I’ve been recommended to you by several people. I’m up in the Pittsburgh area, but used to live in Rockville and McLean, so I’m very familiar with your dealership. I’ve been waiting for local dealers to get an allocation for many months without any luck. I want a 1SS 1LE - this will be my eighth Camaro - so please let me know if we’d be able to work something out to place an order and get in line for an allocation." Quote:

I am actually working with Mike and have an active order scheduled to be built on 1/23. So far so good ! I placed two other orders with big name dealers in the Carolinas prior and waited a year with no movement. STD waiting time is around 6 Months without 1LE. I would give them a call. Good Luck !

Ordered mine from Russ Carter last May. It is supposed to be delivered tomorrow. Not a 1LE however. Also bought my '22 Corvette from him. He's a great guy to me.

I’m honestly over the entire experience. Ordering a Camaro has been a bucket list thing for me as I’ve always just bought off the lot. GM has soured this for me and I frankly am burned out and the luster has worn off. I may end up just buying another 4th gen and a used Z06 at this point.

I was really soured on the whole GM ordering experience as well. Placed an order at my local dealer in mid-November of 2021, but they never got an allocation. Reached out to some other dealerships in February 2022, but none of them had any allocations. Tried buying one that had just arrived at a dealership in late March, but that turned into a huge cluster when the dealership tried to force me to either trade in my MX-5 for way below market value, or use their own in-house financing (not GM, who was offering 1.9% or so at the time), when I was planning on paying cash. I complained to GM customer service about the whole ordering process, but they obviously couldn't do anything. Luckily, one of the dealerships I had contacted back in February called me in mid-April to let me know they had just gotten some allocations, and the rest you can see in my sig below. Definitely not as easy a process as it had been ordering my BRZ or my STI from Subaru. There, I just went into my local dealership, agreed on price, placed the order, and it was done. Even ordering my MX-5 had been relatively painless. The whole allocation system with GM was a whole other ballgame however, and a royal pain to try to deal with. At least GM still allows you to custom order vehicles though. A lot of manufacturers don't, and you have to take what the dealership gets. If it wasn't for this, I was planning on getting a new Toyota GR86 if the Camaro didn't pan out, but Toyota is even worse than GM in that they don't allow you to do factory orders. I actually had my name in at a couple of Toyota dealerships for a GR86 when the Camaro finally panned out.
