Why would he want to trade? He already has an SS Camaro. He's just looking for an engine swap and the wrecked V6 gave him some ideas. However, I think we've all convinced him that it's not a good idea.

I swapped an LFX into my 66 Chevelle. It wasn’t any harder than an LS swap and I’m averaging a little over 30 mpg.

I'd find a 350sb put some alum heads on it with a moderate cam and have fun all day long without breaking the bank or drive line.

Agreed, don’t forget to add in a Holley sniper or similar efi. Along with other mods like heads and cam, it really helps to wake the Gen 1 and 2 stuff up big time.

love that car...had a 66 pontiac tempest that was white with a 400 4 bbl in it.if it had gotten 30 mpg id still be driving it.unfortunately it was more like 8 mpg...

400,lumpy cam,headers,judge intake and carb...wasnt built for economy.i had a blast with it though...

I had a 78 TA with 400 in it, was fun to drive. Broke the trans traded it on a brand new 84 TA.
