Ported vs New Heads
Looking for a little advice from the tech guys. Current set up is in my sig. below. What type of gains would I see by porting my stock heads vs upgrading them to aftermarket? Also, would keeping my current cam be a bad idea if I was to go ported or aftermarket? I have searched around and did not see a great answer to gains on head work. Thanks in advance for the help!

Aftermarket heads flow similar to ported stock but with a stock sized port. The effeciency is were the aftermarket heads shine.

Pat G should be able to point you in the right direction, but Reher Morrison here in DFW has a CNC program for the LS3 heads that pick up 25-35hp and you could mill yours to bump up compression with that small cam without having PTV clearance issues or run a thinner head gasket.
