Borla needs straight pipes?

Threw on the Borla Atak today. Louder and great. However, I screwed myself by firing up the engine when only the cats were on. Fast forward, pulled into driveway and my wife says "we spent $2K for it to be that quiet still?".

Great. So now, anyone running with straight pipes where the mufflers sit? Thinking about running over to the exhaust shop and having them throw some pipe in their place. Only concern would be excessive droning.

I just did a muffler delete and it sounds awesome. Yes the drone can be annoying but I save 1700 bucks compared to that borla

There’s no way in hell anyone would call a Corsa Xtreme+ Cat-back quiet!

Delete the secondary cats with the extension pipes if you haven’t and make sure the valves are open on the ATAK. Even with a really loud setup with Headers, once it’s warmed up, unless you’re hammering on it they usually quiet down under cruise especially with a quality muffler like Borla or Corsa.

I do not recommend straight piping.

You could always put the rear seats down for more cabin volume, or even shave some weight with a rear seat delete kit.

Sorry I'm missing something. If you delete your mufflers what use is the NPP?

Does deleting the secondary cats throw codes w/o tuning? As they have sensors I figured they would. I threw codes with the sensors unplugged when I started it up w/o the Borla installed (post-OEM exhaust removal).

Nope no codes. If the install is leak free and sensors are plugged in you’ll have no issues. I’ve run like that for a year now.

Primary cat deletion and/or headers WILL require a tune however.
