I have a 2017 SS Vert and put the borla 60606 full crossover pipe kit that replaces the 2nd set of cats to the axles on in Oct. I just picked up the ATAK NPP mufflers and exhaust last week. It all fits great and doesn't hit any bracing and hasn't scraped yet either.

Good to know, I have Kooks LT, Borla 60606 pipe kit and the Borla attack npp 11925cb on order.

If I was to add long tube headers and the full length Kooks exhaust like DrFeelGood, will it require a tune?

Yes most definitely it will require a tune. Your car will run extremely rich until its tuned. Will throw codes as as well if you delete secondary oxy sensors

Ricco, did you run into plug wire problems with your kooks system?

17 1SS vert with crap exhaust. Debated between s-type and Magnaflow competition axle back ( I have very close neighbors). Went with MF and very happy. $850 for the kit and only on the lift for one hour.

so not crazy loud or anything? I would assume not. I have used Magnaflows on many of my hot rods including my current 71 Camaro.
Thinking about jumping on a 20% deal and grabbing one - although also considering just leaving it stock since I've spent a lot of $$ on the 71 this year.

Cat Back Exhaust For a Convertible

Not at all. Competition series is like the s-type. Nice tone, not loud but good growl when you get on the gas. Some drone in the cabin at highway speeds in 8th gear

I have the top down 90% anyway. Also 6 speed and I don't even use 6th unless I'm on a longer trip and cruising up over 70mph for an extended period.

Tempted - found a vendor with a 20% discount right now. $700 shipped.

Same here. In car, top down. I have a DD minivan for bad weather and trips to the grocery store. That’s a good deal

Is the axle-back worth it between price and time (cutting pipes)? I was looking at the ATAK, but I hate to spend $1600 to get something that only gives me a portion of the sound that it is capable of (if I had X-Pipe/Mid-pipe/Down-pipes) and only gives me a small performance advantage
I have the NPP and the Borla ATAK that has the NPP control ..sounds great
