New to GM cars and the forum
Figured I have lurked long enough and it was time to make an account.
I have been shopping for a new weekend/track car for about 18 months now. I was pretty upset with what I was test driving in my usual go to Euro and Japanese manufactures. Eventual I made the mistake of buying a 40k VW Golf that I sold in 7 months with a pretty hard hit to the wallet. Everything just feels dead anymore, like it doesn't even want you to have fun with the car. After a while some friends told me to try american. The Mustang Gt felt OK at best, and while the GT350 was really good, the price just didn't help sell me on the lack of low end torque. A quick drive in the Challenger and knew it isn't for me. This led to GM. I must say I feel like I have been completely missing out. I was sold on a C5 Z06, but the lack of a modern feel started to weigh on my decision and just couldn't pull the trigger. Moved up to a C6 Z06 and the car is fantastic but reported engine failures (heads, rods, and the occasional dry sump failure) deterred me quickly. Then I got a call from the dealership that sold me my golf and they told me to take an M6 1SS 2018 Camaro out for the rest of the day (about 5 hours). I enjoyed every bit of the drive, but I did some research and found out about the 1LE package. After a couple calls I drove 2 hours just to drive one and fell in love. After the whole Golf incident I decided to walk away from it and give me sometime to really think it over. Sure there is some small complaints but the car just seems to fit what I want out of the car. Now I am on the hunt for a 2017-2018 SS 1LE in Hyper Blue or Summit White. BTW sorry for the long introduction! |

Welcome to the Forum and I must say I do admire your process of deciding which car to go with. I also own my very FIRST Camaro, by far not my first GM product. I purchased mine out of state and decided to fly up and drive her back, about 1k miles. I loved the look and lines of the car, it was loaded so the features were dynamic, however, everything was so responsive that I was not initially comfortable. With each hundred miles under my belt the attachment grew. Times I made it home several days later, stopped and visited friends along the way, I knew the decision I had made was the correct one. Will be two years later come April and I do not have one single regret. I pray the same for you my friend.
Please keep us posted and remember, it never happened unless we see pictures! Larry

Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5/6. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wives', husbands, girlfriends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!!

Welcome and I have to say that you seem like a pretty smart guy. You learned your lesson about a car and that's something that many don't. Bravo! I hope you find exactly what you're looking for because I hear those 6th gen 1LE's are beastly! As for the color, well you might guess that I like blue too. I hope you stick around a while and enjoy your soon to be Camaro!
