Auto hangs in 5th gear? Anyone experience this? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

2010 SS auto - if I gradually get up to highway speed, say 60mph or so, my trans sometimes likes to stay in 5th gear. If I tap the gas quick, it'll do a quick downshift and settle into 6th at same mph (2000 rpm vs 1700 or so).

It did it when it was 100% stock, and it does it with the performance tune (slightly increased line pressure, slightly tighter shifts, but TCC and torque management left alone)

Is this relatively normal? It's more of an occasional nuisance than anything
