SS to SS 1LE Tires

Would switching just my rear tires 275 35 20 to 305 30 20 cause any problems?

According to Goodyear, the min rim width is 10.5” for the SS 1LE tire. The SS rear wheels are 9.5”, so I wouldn’t run them.

Just the tires, not the rims. I have stock wheels. The last owner put Continental extremes on btw

Would that be because of the offsets?

People have (stupidly, imo) put the 1LE size tires on the stock SS wheels. It's possible.

No, don't do it. The wider tire on the narrower rim will pinch the tire, for one. With proper air pressure you will actually have less contact patch on the road and the tire will wear dramatically faster in the center. You could counter this with lower air pressure, however, the sidewall will flex more and the tire will roll on itself when cornering, either way it will reduce stability.

What if i do 305s but in, (SS), 35 20s? If not, what’s the widest tire I could fit on stock wheels?

285's are the biggest you should fit. Like others have said above, you can "fit" bigger on there, but not safely/effectively. Sure some people run wider tires on stock rims, but if only the center of the tire contacts the pavement, you might as well have bicycle tires.

If you want to run wider tires for cheap, look around on ebay, I just got a set of like new MRR ZL1 replicas in 10x20 and 11x20 for 500 dollars.

305/35 would be even worse because the tires would then be rubbing the wheel liner. Stop. 285/35 is the widest you should go on stock tires.

Remember, the 305-30-20 tires are shorter, so you'll need to adjust your speedometer through software.
