I'm not going to cancel my ZL1 order over any purported rumors of the 'changes' making their way into the ZL1 either next year...or maybe never...I think this might be a 'happy dyno' but I'll be honest I didn't even watch the video to see if they said which kind of dyno they ran this car on. If they were able to achieve only 10% driveline loss that would be a major achievement.

Yeah looks like a happy dyno. But a cool car nonetheless.

They've run ZL1s on the same dyno and produced the usual numbers, so calling it a "fluke" isn't based on anything. Claimed numbers aren't the story.

Would love to see a back to back dyno, same day, Blackwing and then a ZL1. Same motor, same supercharger with maybe a tweaked snout and slightly tweaked tune, not going to add 50whp lol.

LMP just ran one, best was 598 in STD which is roughly 577 SAE. Which is in the margin on of error for the crank HP of 668 they say it was rated at. My Stock ZL1 baselined at 557 and 560 on 2 different dynos (SAE). So this is right on par with what was expected.

Drove the Blackwing a few times this past weekend and was able to take it to triple digit speeds multiple times. I can say that the motor is even smoother than I have experienced in any lt4 equipped zl1,z06 or CTSv. To me, some obvious improvements and stock for stock an improvement over the last V for sure. Not enough for me to upgrade right now - mine is not stock however. But I know some of ya’ll are on that lease plan… which in that case might make sense for you.

You could always wait a year or 2 and get a used one. Those cars always drop a lot in value.

I doubt it - very limited production, this is a "send off" vehicle

I'm starting to wonder if the engine updates are more than 18hp. Fasterproms dyno'ed a ZL1 (A10) at 550 ish whp bone stock, or about 70whp down from the Blackwing on the same dyno.
Yes, there's run-to-run variation, but I don't think A10 vs M6 explains a 70whp gap. Cadillac also noted a 10.30 @ 129 1/4 mile time. That trap is...high for a stock LT4. |

Agreed with what’s been said. The 2 different Blackwing CT5V’s I drove had what felt to be 668 crank hp. Save for the intake mod which would put the lt4 on par with any zl1, it felt the tune was redone and it idled, accelerated, and shifted very very smoothly.
It should be on par with what’s expected for the 6-speed and the A10. |

The main changes are around how the chassis behaves at the limit.
It’s much better mannered and should be a great street/take the woman out to dinner and clients out to golf and then weekend warrior it on the road course sedan. |
