13 in general was lackluster.

I do play the mmos, been playing 11 for years and just started 14 last month. I have fun with those but I'm biased. Terms of single player games 12 would have been a lot better if they cut out all the damn running. The game had a great story. 10 is still the last champion however.

I'm one of those odd people that like liked the entire 13 trilogy. LR gets better especially when you can get hard mode and start upgrading everything. I have 300 hours in it so far I'm on play thru 7.

I'm with you. I've been hooked on FF games since the SNES though, so that may be why.

I thoroughly enjoyed 13, 13-2 I thought was the worst of the three, but I still bought it and played it through. 13-3 was fantastic, though I only played through twice.

13-2 was solid but it was just a little weak plus the troll ending, and all the dlc made it a headache sometimes. It seemed like you had to be a diehard fan to really follow what was going on. Some of my friends that got it had played 13, but complained that it was really hard to follow and that is seemed to be all over the place. Which was mostly due to the time travel deal, but it came with it's pros and cons.

My first attempt failed miserably. I think I only made it to day 8 or so. Yeah it was bad. I'm on day 11 now on my second attempt to beat this thing. I think I've done enough to end it. im not sure I will play this a third time. I don't think I have that much time to spare.

Does hard mode automatically kick in or is that a setting I need to adjust?

You unlock hard mode after you beat the boss on normal mode. And hard mode
Is exactly that. After switching from normal to hard, your stats aren't too much higher and a lot of enemies will wipe the floor with you. But that's the part of the challenge. At my level only the super bosses give me any difficulty. It's the weapons and ability perks that really make the difference.

1, 4 (2 in the USA), 7, 8, 9,10, all great games. I played the translated Japanese version of 5 that was good but tough cuz it was an emulator on my phone.

I'm currently playing it again after buying the FFX FFX-2 HD Remaster.

Yup. This is why I never get rid of my old consoles.

Especially glad I didn't ditch my PS2 after my ex stole my first-gen 80GB PS3. That was one of the only PS3s that was backwards compatible with PS2 PS1 games.

Still mad about that.

Had to walk away from this game for a while. Got tired of slaughtering the same enemies over and over again. I finally beat this thing. It's too close to Christmas, so buying things for myself have been cut down. I'm half way through a second play through mainly for the challenge of killing aeronite, and beating everything on day 14. After that, I'm putting it back in the case, taking it to my friends house, and he can keep it. Freebie.

I want to go back to the times when my character could do next to anything. I had Cloud Strife completely maxed out. Every ability, every summon, every thing at any given time. He was carrying it, ready to slaughter anything in his path... Now all I have is characters that can do 5 basic attacks and a few magic spells. God help you if you go into the wrong area with the wrong abilities. Oh look, these guys are completely immune to lightning spells and physical attacks. Time for a 45 minute battle for survival.

And Ultima shouldn't be called Ultima unless it is the ultimate freaking spell... If I cast something called ultima, every enemy should die, his brothers should die, and his mother for the aggravation he caused me.

Eventually when your character gets powerful enough, the enemies should start running away.
