Nope. 1999-2004 Mustang Cobras all had IRS.

Mach 1 is too expensive, C8 and ZL1 are way too close in price nevermind SLE being close in performance or even faster for a lot less money. Many here picked up SLEs for about $40k even, 2SS for ~$5k more...

Interesting, I never knew that. Someone update Mr. Whole with more proof that I'm not a Mustang fanboy that he was/is so convinced of

2000 Cobra R had IRS as well. It was also the first mustang with a six speed.

You weren't alone, I thought the S550 was the intro for IRS too.

I agree 100%. It should have been a GT but with a N/A version of the GT500 engine and transmission. The same concept as the 2003-2004 Mach 1 and 2003-2004 Cobra where the Mach 1 was truly unique to the GT. Unless you have to have a brand new car, I just don’t see any value in paying $10-20k more than a lightly used GT PP2. Also, I owned a 2016 GT with the MT82 and after 5 years, almost 100k miles of beating the hell out of the transmission, never had an issue with it. An aftermarket clutch does wonders with the overall driving experience.

I built a Mach 1 Premium w/ the A10, handling package, Elite package, and Recaros to get it as close to comparable to my ZL1 as possible.

March 1 MSRP: $63,495
My '21 ZL1 MSRP: $68,935 (A10, CF hood insert, Nav, and CF shift knob includes gas guzzler tax)

I paid under msrp for my ZL1. I got $2k in rebates plus a dealer discount. So, for only a little more money, I got a car that will destroy the Mach 1 on a track and in a straight line.

I realize for some, that price will be worth it to have a Mach 1, but for very similar amounts of money a ZL1 will be a better performance buy.

Price-wise, a decked out Mach 1 w/ handling package isn't in the realm of SS 1LE price - it's in the ZL1 price bracket. Yikes (if you're Ford).

Nevertheless, Ford will sell them and likely many of them with ADM.

I'd take a ZL1 or C8 over one anyday, or SLE and save a ton of cash.

Additional Dealer Markup.

It seems like 305/30/20 is super common now so maybe it'll help with getting prices down a bit. But yeah, it would be nice if at least the SLE came with the same 19s the ZLE comes with.

That's absolutely insane. I just jumped onto B&P and loaded one up and it came out to 65K That's just absurd, asinine and stupid.

They probably won't sell any of them. If that's even their goal.
