Makis, take a look at these, they are for a 2018 V8 car
T4F is the RPO for the high intensity discharge headlamps

Good luck

Thanks h018871 and appologies for highjacking this thread.

So, according to the DRL w T4F diagram above, if I wanted to fit a set of aftermarket lower fog light DRLs, I should connect the right DRL by tapping into the blue/brown (BU/BN) wire that goes into the right headlight and the left DRL by tapping into the gray/blue (GY/BU) wire that goes into the left headlight. Correct?

Hi, yes, you're right. Grey/blue as I mentioned in my other post is the left and blue brown on the right. If you connect both of the negatives together and use an inline switch, you can switch them off come MOT time.

Hey Uk2019, on this note since you seem to possess some insider knowledge, do you happen to know why these DRLs are illegal in the UK and the EU?

This piqued my curiosity long ago, it's the factory setup in the US and Canada, and there are plenty other cars in Europe with standalone DRL light bodies, so I don't really understand the problem.

I asked an IVA tester (the IVA test is the UK test for certifying that vehicles including imported vehicles comply with the UK regulations) while I was searching for a car and debating whether to import a US car or buy an EU spec car. He said it was due to the proximity of the drl and the brightness of it in relation to the indicator. Rather than adapting it for export markets, GM just removed it instead. However, those regulations only seem to apply for companies applying for homologation of their cars, therefore if you import a US car as an individual, the drls being present and used shouldn't pose a problem for that individual import and IVA test. Strictly speaking he said retrofitting them to an EU car also shouldn't be a problem as if you took it for an IVA test he'd pass it, but given that there's a significant amount of variation in what individual MOT and IVA testers will and won't pass (e.g. Using side markers as side turn signals and middle brake lights as fog lights for imports) I thought it best to install a hidden switch.

Ah, I see. Thank you for the detailed response, Sir, much appreciated.

That means another potential way around it is to replace the turn signal bulb with a proper, bright amber LED like I did (can't stand those 1990s style halogens on such an amazing car, shame on you for penny pinching, GM) and then take the test with the aux DRLs installed.

I completely agree, I swapped the headlight indicator bulbs to leds soon after getting the car. With led drls and tail lights it's a shame GM decided to save a few pennies on the indicator bulbs. Very easily swapped out though.

Hi guys, I've found this topic because I might have a similar issue.

I have a US imported 2016 Camaro RS bought here in Spain.
Unfortunately, the turn signals hyper-flash after 2-3 seconds when activating them. Hazard lights work fine.

The mechanic wasn't able to figure out the issue yet and he showed me that the rear signal lights are connected to the front lights. He said this shouldn't be the case and he doesn't know why this is the way it is.

He asked for the wiring diagram for the lights, do you guys have it?
