They never will. Unless it was a ford. GM sucks in the customer friendly software update dept. GM will say, trade in your 16' for a 17' if you want that App Store.

I am a 2017 50th Anniversary 2 SS Camaro owner with no nav and I have the Weather app. I think I downloaded it to the car via the Shop app on page 2 of my 8" MyLink screen. Beautiful app!

Interesting thing... It only works if I have the WiFi hotspot enabled (even if i have WiFi turned off on my phone. Makes me wonder if I will still be able to use it after I stop paying for the hotspot data plan. Anyone know this answer?

2016 doesn't include "shop app" at all. Is the glorious app worth trading in an entire car to get? lol chevy not allowing simple MyLink software updates makes ZERO sense!

You have to have NAV to see speed limit info. Glen ended up finding out he did have NAV afterall.

That's the weather channel app. No it won't work after your onstar data trial expires. At that point you have to tether the car to your smartphone or portable wifi hotspot to continue using it.

By "tether," does connecting my car to my phone's LTE signal via Android Auto count? I don't currently pay Sprint for hotspot services from my phone.

No unfortunately AA does not allow the rest of myLink access to the LTE signal. You would have to enable your hotspot on your phone. You can also connect myLink to any nearby WiFi (i.e. Starbucks, McDonalds, your home WiFi) if in range. But that doesn't do you any good when driving.
