subwoofer install?
Will taking my car to a shop to get this installed the next day be a bad idea as there are no service manuals or anything to remove the radio? Trying to avoid broken trim by being a guinea pig but i want to get everything done the next day possibly

May not even have to remove the radio.. on the 5th gen there was a small harness you plugged in in the trunk for the remote wire, and obviously power and ground was right there as well..

With me being basically the first car, how where they know where this harness is or how to remove trim correctly? Guess i am worrying to much

If it's a reputable shop I wouldn't worry to much about them removing the trim... but if you do in fact need to be the guinea pig I would have them look in the trunk before they start tearing out the radio...

Yep....especially if you have the BOSE, then all they need should be in the trunk area.

Gotta say. This is one of the things Im most excited about. I quit wiring in subs many years ago bc of the PITA. With this setup it will be gravy!

Yeah me too...I am wondering if there will be power back there, wonder if it will be some type of proprietary harness of some sort. Running power for amps or power subs is a pain!

The battery is in the trunk. The Bose equipped cars are going to be one of the easiest cars ever to add a sub too..... Of course there is no trunk space for anything substantial.

I think I'm going to do an SSA ICON 10 in 0.75 sealed and 1.25-1.50 ported through the rear deck. It will get plenty loud for a DD, and sound pretty dang good doing it. |

The battery, stereo amplifier, and a fuse box are all in the trunk. The left side of the trunk (opposite the right where the battery is installed) will probably have a good amount of room for a subwoofer if you don't mind modifying the wall of the trunk. Then you can maintain all of the original trunk space.
