I'm resisting buying any parts for my car before it arrives! My luck, it will finally ship someday and fall off the railcar...

Is it a GM splitter? If it's not a GM splitter would a Chevrolet dealership still install it if you brought it in?

I'm planning on getting a splitter and am capable of doing it myself I'm just scared of screwing up or it falling off sometime later.

These are very easy to install, just a matter of lining up the bolts really. I did it by myself without instructions.

Piece of cake, you'll enjoy it. Don's throw your cash away for a dealership install when you can have fun with a sense of accomplishment. Also, unlike service techs, you can take as long as you wish and make it absolutely perfect, it's your car after all. X-zorcise that fear and jump on it

BTW although I have a rivet gun, I didn't use rivets with my GM splitter, it's rock solid with the bolts and the tape, and rivets are much more tricky to remove if need be. If you buy an aftermarket splitter, just make sure it reuses the same bolts and preferably has some tape to completely fill in the space between the fascia and the splitter.
