Now ya all might think that's decent mileage but back in 89 our RS Camaro 305 TBI on the same trip got 32mpg. But it only had 200hp BUT it didn't shift every other minute either. Betcha this trans shifts 5 million times every time you drive it.

Had sneaky cop following me a few cars back through a small town, I didn't see him till I turned onto the interstate. Luckily I was coolin it all the way.
With 411 gears what rpm is it spinning at say 60. My my car has 3200 stall and 391s..it spins 2100 rpm at 65 or so.

I’m probably dating myself but if Mr Rockin here was Ryan O’Neill and this car was his MG Midget, (deleting Ali McGraw altogether!) this could be, “Love Story, The Car.” Good on ya, bro. No one can take your fun away. Enjoy it.

Fraid so, QC. The Camaro was 3 when that movie came out. The FIRST Gen!

Update: I stand corrected. Looks like the 1970 model year was the 2nd gen.

I honestly don't know but it is high. The steering wheel blocks the tach out pretty good but I'm gonna guess from what I seen of it around 2400 or so with the convertor locked BUT I can't feel it lock I'm just guessing its locked. We had to go up a steep mt road today its at least a 2 mile run to the top open highway. It went right up @ about 65 mph with power to spare I could easily push the throttle and it was right there. I believe the tach was up around 3500 in maybe 5th gear. I don't think it was locked because the throttle was very responsive, but I'm not sure. Next time I drive it I'll try to look but like I said I can't see all that well to start with and the tach is small and the dam little steering wheel blocks most of it because. Also in the v6 the tach is always up and down all over the place, mostly up...... nothing like a v8 car.

Oh another thing, MY DOG ATE MY HOME WERK LMAO

I need to get a updated scanner that will give me more info about whats going on. My 300 dollar actron is a piece of crap. It will not report if the convertor is locked or if the is any knock retard. I know at times its pulling ALOT of timing for some reason but I don't hear anything like knocking or pinging. Another very weird thing about this tune is you can drive 45-50 easily just by barely touching the gas pedal. Its just too weird.

Your converter might not be locking. I would what stall is in the car....what the stall is set at. A good trans tune makes a huge difference in any auto car. You should look for paper work of some kind from a shop. You may get lucky.

Too bad you didn't come out to Las Vegas for LS Fest. I'd like to run you. Oh wait, you don't have an LS.

Try using your HUD, that's what it's there for.

Have a nice day
Go run you a 12 sec slip at 110 and faster as-is, and FYI, my V8 2SS with 35k on the ODO was only 18.5........where's the huge expense? And if you have a high stall converter, your mpg will be crapola in DD use. I get 22 to 23 mpg hwy in my lard ass car btw.........

That's still pretty expensive for an almost 10 year old car with unknown maintenance and driving habits for that mileage.

I paid almost that amount ($18.9K) back in '15 for a BRAND NEW 7 mile 5th gen. I wanted brand new instead of a used V8 which I knew would get smoked by the upcoming 6th gen SS.

My budget at the time allowed for the V6 so that's what I bought. I was hoping for more aftermarket support for engine mods, but I guess you have to buy a Mustang to get that on a non V8 model.

I want to take it back and have the tuner put it up on the lift see maybe if there is markings on the convertor. I know the trans tune heeds work too because in certain situations it dam near refuses to downshift then when it does the engine revs sky high and takes off like a bullet snaps your neck back.

I should get hptuners but the reason I don't is although I have a lot of programing and electrical experience I don't flashing these newer cars. Without good guidance I'm afraid of making rookie mistakes making a huge mess the dealer will love.

It needs a aux trans cooler too, fluid looked dark when we changed it and it runs north of 200 all the time.
