Heat Cracks in rotors

How bad do these heat cracks look? Rotors are 33.25mm thick. Trying to determine if I should replace them or maybe have them lightly turned.

They are the 6 piston brembo's.

Thanks

Yep.....not bad at all.

Just some heat checking at this point...watch for true "cracks" and particularly anything that starts making its way to the outside edge.

I'd only turn them if they appear to be giving you any pulsation or shudder like they are warped.

Not too bad yet. My OEM 1LE rotors looked about the same after 7 track day. Replacement thickness is 32mm or if you get larger cracks or they go to the edge. By the way I saw a big difference in price between the slotted 6 piston kit rotors and the OEM 1LE rotors. The other option is the slotted DBA 5000 rings but you have to transfer the hat which is no big deal.

Or....there is always this option....

I'll have some more details on the AP Racing Brakes kits in a new thread, after I get them on the track for a more thorough review vs. OEM. Later in March at Road Atlanta!

They're fine, and you have plenty of life left in them. The rule of thumb is heat checking is normal and acceptable until you can catch a fingernail on the cracks. Then it's time to replace.

That's just heat checking. Run 'em til they crack.

Ditto Norm's and Jim's comments. Well maybe stop just before they crack

NB Love APs too, but frankly OEMs are a great - top shelf - product for the money. But if somebody has a phat wallet then AP Enduros are the way too go. Their Sprint size kits dont offer much in a way of an upgrade imo.

Proly because of ongoing USA vs China trade discussions.
