Yep my labor costs were right at 6600 not including parts cost as I bought everything beforehand. You might as well do a forged bottom end while they got it out since labor is so high on these cars.

Man these prices are crazy, my price was around $5500 for cam kit, converter, labor to put it in and the tune.

Ouch. That is expensive, I paid for everything and had $1000 leftover from that.

That's why I went ahead and decided to have the bottom end forged it was only an additional 4hrs labor and I had already purchased the pistons and rods from GPI awhile back.

Thats interesting. I read a Hotrod article where headers only added about 13 hp with no tune. But that was keeping OEM cats. Ijust don't want the headache of headers- heat, noise, etc. Plus in mich they have to be ceramic coated due to salt.....I just want a LUMPY cam so my man parts grow in size.....

What do they make with a tune?

Then compare that to aftermarket headers with a tune.

I honestly don't know. I want headers though. They sound good. I live in Illinois but do not drive the car in the winter. (good stainless headers shouldn't corrode anyways.)

I think i've heard of a way to write mods and add ons you do to your vehicle onto your insurance policy. It would suck to have someone hit you head on and they total your car, you'd have to buy it back from the insurance company, if it dosent damage your engine parts, they probably would be hard on you once they figure out you want it.
