I'll be interested if it shows reasonable gains, and the quality and fit/finish is at least on par with Roto-Fab. Years ago I recall users on the G8 forum complaining about the quality and fit/finish of Vararam's over-the-radiator intake; a friend of mine purchased one for his GXP, and after seeing it in person, I understood the complaints.

I had an "over the radiator" intake from Vararam on my 2010 Camaro with the LS3 engine. I added it as part of a cam/bolt-on build. The quality was very good. The way the intake split apart to check/change the filter could have been engineered better but other than that the fit and finish was solid. It really dressed up the engine bay as a bonus. As to what it added for stand alone performance - I don't know as all the performance upgrades were done at one time.
I can't tell enough about it to know if I would want this new one yet. I need to see better photos of it installed on a 6 Gen and better data on what the gains are before I'm willing to get on board. Plus what will the cost be?

In the past I've had the opportunity to install a few Vararam intakes on c5 vettes, cant say I had any complaints. I have buddies that are still utilizing the stock intake and performing well, vararam might be on to something by re-using the stock tube and just replacing the box. looking forward to finish product and cost of unit. I too had the Vararam on my 2010 Fifth Gen and had to have the radiator tilted back toward the motor which I wasn't too fond of but it worked. I never had any real issue with it. Though I have an intake now, I'm curious as to what this will do performance wise, fit and finish.

Do you have any target price-range? There are a lot of Black Friday sales right now, just wondering if we should wait for Vararam or jump on some of the other deals going on right now?
Also, will you have a sound-tube delete like other companies, either as a package now or later by itself? When is the target date to get these to the customers? December, or do you have to get a certain number of orders first, and won't ship until sometime next year? Just a few questions! I do really like the way this looks, and I have a Vararam intake on my 5th Gen that I really love so I am very interested in this as well! Thank you for your answers in advance! -Cory

Working on final pricing now.
We used injection molding for many of its components not just for their precision but also to save the customer money on the retail end. Expect it to be cheaper than what is out now by enough of a margin that it will make a difference. Plus - If a true gain in power is what you are after with your hood closed driving down the road , Nothing outperforms it,.. Period ! VR tech |
