Winkles In Top

On the drivers side of what would be considered the "C" pillar on a coupe, the area behind the side quarter window has considerable wrinkles after having the top down. The top material seems to have more slack on the drivers side than the other side. Is there a way to take up this slack?

Bump

OK, it has been a while and read many times and no one has responded. So maybe I need to explain better.

What I described as wrinkles are actually fold creases. I tried capturing a picture but it doesn't show. The passenger side pulls tight stretching out the creases and the drivers side does not. Does anyone else have this situation? Does anyone know of a way to tighten this up? I am not concerned about the functionality of the top, just the cosmetic appearance of it.
Thanks...

I don't have this issue, but is there any chance you put the roof down while it was wet or stored it with the roof down for an extended period of time?

+1.
No wrinkles, just very slight fold pattern. Hardly noticeable. Goes away with the top down. LOL.

Honestly, I’d have someone in the top business make adjustments. On my old SS, I adjusted the top mechanism. It was a bitch to get right, by myself... trial and error. What took me 3+ hours, probably would have taken a pro 15-30 minutes.

Only time I have had anything remotely similar is when top has been down for a lengthly amount of time. Always pulls taught after a period of time of keeping it up. Sounds like others have experienced the unevenness and the need for adjustment. Do you treat your fabric??

No. My car has just over 500 miles. Bought it in the fall and the weather got ugly here early this year. I've never had it in the rain and the roof has always been put up after a drive.

Unfortunately there is no one in my neck of the woods that could handle that. Nothing but redneck junk fixers. I do not trust the dealer either after seeing what they consider a delivery prep to be.

Yes I have treated it with 303 Fabric Guard.

Could you describe how you made adjustments to the top mechanism?

Thanks

It’s been over two years since I worked on it. My top was slightly crooked where it met the black plastic trim around trunk line. What that meant is I had to shift the landing spot for the rear hinged section of the top forward, on my drivers side. When I did this, it took the pucker out of the roof fabric (added bonus) with that said, I’d rather not send you down the wrong path here, what I did may not fix your problem. I almost racked the roof arm linkage, as you need more than one person to hold steady and adjust multiple points (one affects the other). Your issue may simply be resolved by a adjusting the fabric across the top, which I don’t know how to do....

Good luck...

I had the wrinkle (loose) material on the passenger side at the bottom of the C pillar. The dealer adjusted the top and the problem is gone and has not returned.

Thanks, I'll have to look into that when the car comes out in the spring.
