Rear Tow Hook?
Am I the only one who is a little dismayed by the fact that the gen 6 Camaro has no place to put a rear tow hook? Has anyone had to tow/recover their 6th gen Camaro from the rear? Where on the car did you hook on to? Does anyone have any aftermarket goodies to help with this process? Thank you wise and generous forum gurus.

If I remember correctly, you can not tow with the Camaro at all. The engineers say its a big no no.

So no towing a tiny trailer of track rims/tires? Or a small seadoo? that's a bummer.

Is the factory provided tow-hook on the front not to your liking? You can see mine in yellow in the front grill of my SS...

I am not interested in towing anything with my camaro and I love the factory front tow hook option. My question is: what if I come around turn 2 on my local track and find myself nose-first into a hay bale. How do I hook a recovery strap to the back of the beloved camaro and pull it back to safety? Any thoughts?

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to hook a recovery/tow strap to the rear of a Camaro?

I don't think anyone has a good answer for you. I've been looking at underside pictures and exhaust install videos and I'm not seeing anywhere you could even get a strap without damaging something else. Definitely can't see a good, easy place for a tow hook.
If you really HAD to have one you would probably need to remove the rear plastic bumper cover, find a good place to mount a hook, and then cut the bumper cover to allow it through.

Well if you're going to do that, just open the trunk, loop a tow strap around the latch area, then slam the trunk on it.

The one from ZL1 Addons for my 5th Gen had to drill a hole in the bodywork behind the license plate for install. I can remove the license plate and put the hook in and then remove and replace the license plate when done. I would check with them to see if they have something similar for the 6th Gen.

On my 5th gen race car we custom fabbed a tow strap through the exhaust hole in the diffuser to the body. I don't have a 6th gen to look at and see if its possible but its definitely something to think about.

I am fully planning on towing with my camaro but that's a secret and not something you guys are allowed to share. As for the op you could install the curt class 2 accessory hitch. Pretty confident that would suffice in a recovery situation, has a 110 lbs weight rating as well and is sold on gm accessories on the gm website. My life is towing and there's a few tricks up my sleeve!
