Wife (5'7"), daughter (5'9") and I (5'11") drove from Texas to No. Carolina and back last year--3000 miles and 4 days drving. No problems. Granted, only one person in back seat at a time and we rotated. Certainly worth the minor discomfort to have the road trip in the Camaro!

Owned a 2011 SS. It's not the room you really have to worry about. It's the doors. The doors keep you from getting into the back to get your kids without bumping the car next to you. It's absolutely pointless to have back seats unless you let everyone out before you park. Having small kids, that's not safely possible if you are the only parent with them that day. People claim their "friends" have ridden in the back. I have a coworker named Dan, who is probably 5'06" on a good day with grass on the bottom of his shoes. He couldn't get back there. I don't know who people are hanging out with that could fit back there grown up.

Can people actually ride in the back seats?
Yes, I've had people sit in the back. If they're short it's not an issue but if they're tall with long legs, it's not comfortable for long rides.

Any insight people?

I took two of my cousins to a bar b q joint a while back in my Camaro. One or the other was in the back

Both of them go over six feet. Nobody died.

I'll say! How many mpg do you get out of the wife and kids, anyway?

Wife rode in the back of ours for a trip to a restuarant with one of my boys riding shotgun up front last Saturday.

Took about a 5 minutes before leg cramps set in on her on the 6 minute trip.

As I'm sure others have stated, a rear-facing car-seat is going to be a very tight squeeze, however, front-facing fits no problem. I'm only 5'6" and I don't think I'd want to be in the back-seat of my ZL1 for more than a trip around the block or to get food or somethin'

I have a 20 month old and getting her into the seat and strapping her was a real pain! You have to lean all the way in while holding them up in your hands! Not good for the back Now I just use the wife's FJ to cart her around. The Camaro just isnt practical with kids. My opinion.

I'm 6'2" and no one can sit in back of me. I think that it would have been better to make the car a two seater and devote some more space to the trunk and would have saved some weight. Honestly, I think the seats are just for looks.

Backseat is borderline useless and as such, I will be removing mine in favor of a lot of speakers. Priorities.
