I have had remote start on almost every car I have owned. All manuals. I always leave the car in neutral and parking brake anyway. I've never left a car in gear. If the parking brake can't hold your car your parking brake needs repair. If you have a quality system it's totally invisible and easy to use and just as safe as being on a auto car.

When manual transmissions have a mechanical park sprag on the output shaft that engages only in the neutral gate (essentially what the "Park" position is in automatics), remote-start in a manual transmission car becomes as good as remote start in an automatic.
Not a moment before. That would get around the P-brake vs leaving it in gear vs all the various electrical/electronic band-aids currently in use. Norm |

My wife parks her 6-speed Civic Si outside and I recently put a DEI remote start on it. Works great and with the factory alarm. It has to be in neutral and e-brake on as well. I pondered my Camaro but realized it drives from a garage at home to covered parking at worki so no real big deal but my installer said "no problem". Hmmmmm..
