I have the OEM illuminated black bowtie (part number 23393028), a relatively easy install that has been working fine for 4 years. Althouth it's the same color temperature as the DRLs, its output is lower, so it's more subtle in the dark.

First one I ordered with the car as an option, then after messing up the front bumper, the replacement unit cost around $250.

That guy

I like it, it wasn't very difficult to install and looks nice on the car.
I get a lot of positive feedback from people about it. It is a brighter white than the stock 4300K headlights though. It matched better once I put 5000K bulbs in.

Wow, this looks pretty bright, mine feels much dimmer. Not sure if it's the photography or the bowtie LED was revised in later years (assuming you just got a brand new kit).

100% agree, mine wasn't nearly that bright either, bought from chevy dealership too. Maybe they updated them? Or maybe the angle, second oic below doesn't look nearly as bright. Anyways, definitely a cool mod

My wifes Blazer RS had one. After about 3 months it broke off in the carwash. it is held in place by 4 plastic clips and 3 pf them snapped. She took it to the dealer we bought it from and the service writer told her it was not covered under the warranty. I called the GM 1-800# and had a conference call with service manager. I figured it was an accessory and was at least covered under the 12 month/12000 miles warranty.
Turns out it is covered under the 36 month/36000 warranty. Would not have got it, but it was already on the car and was a $495 option on the window sticker. It looks good at night but is cheaply made. |
