I want to upgrade exhaust. I need advice please.
I recently purchased a 2022 Camaro LT1 Coupe. It has an RS package and dual tip exhaust. I would like to upgrade to the dual exhaust (quad tips). I really love the look of 4 tail pipes. Plus I love the sound.
I called my dealership and told them I’d like to order a dual exhaust. They told me I’d have to order the dual exhaust aftermarket, but their service department can install everything. Now, I’m a bit naive when it comes to cars and mechanics. I don’t know what type of exhaust system is currently in my Camaro; I don’t know if it’s a single pipe which branches out in a Y shape leading to the dual tips, or if there are two pipes. Anyway, does anyone know what I need to order to get those quad tips? What type of exhaust do I need to order? Also, where do you recommend I order the exhaust? - If you need more information or detail on my vehicle I’ll try and get it. |

Too bad you are so far away. I have a quad tip NPP sitting next to my house collecting dust and would give it away just so a Camaro would get it. It would fit perfect with only the 2 input pipes needing welded up. You would need to get a lower valence cut out for the quad tip. Maybe you can find a used one near you. Best, least expensive way to upgrade sound and get quad tip. Our cars have a large "suitcase" muffler with 2 pipes coming in the back and 2 pipes coming out the sides to the rear (for non quad tip, quad tip has 2 pipes coming out each side)

You can just order a quad tip catback (I did the AWE Touring catback and can recommend it without reservation). Then pickup a valance off a quad tip car or buy an aftermarket one. But my car was dual tip and I agreed the quad looks much better, and it was an easy upgrade.

Joshinator99 - one more question for you
Joshinator99, Did you need to order the entire exhaust system or or just the muffler and outlet piece? See the two attached images for what I mean.
Also, the AWS web site only has the SS and ZL1 model in the "does this fit" section. Hopefully these are compatible with LT1. I assume they are since I have a 6.2 liter, v8 w 455. Thanks |

I ordered the full catback with resonators because I knew I was removing the secondary cats. I knew I was going to go for big power down the road so I wanted to remove the crushed section of exhaust piping as well. If you’re staying bolt-ons, you don’t have to worry about that. I suspect you could order just the axleback in your situation.

If it’s the RS it’s not the 6.2 right?
Are you sure you’ll like the sound? Different engines evoke a different exhaust note. Personally I’m not a fan of 4 & 6 cyl engines with exhaust mods but I haven’t heard a ton in real life. I apologize if I am stating something that you’re aware of. Just wanted to throw in that pic if it’s not the 8cyl the sound will be different I would assume. I’ve done exhaust mods on every 8 cylinder I’ve owned so that’s where I’m limited. |

t's definitely 6.2 liters, LT1 engine V8 with 455 horses. I attached some pics and specs. The LT1 is the lowest model to start with this engine. -The RS is just an appearance package that was added to this car.

OP, don't forget, as noted in the first response, that you'll also need to swap out your lower valence for one with the larger cutouts for 2 pipes on each side. Not a huge deal, but it'll probably cost you a couple hundred dollars to buy one, and the swap involves quite a few panel clips.
