Interior Fan comes on full blast.

When I start the car. The interior fan immediately goes on full power. I have to turn it down to about half speed. After a drive, I will shut the car down at about half speed setting. The next time I start the car, the fan is blowing at full power.

Is this unusual? If so how do I correct it?

If you have a temp set and the climate controls set to auto it will come on full blast until it reaches that temp

On the touch screen you can set things under auto climate. My fan is on medium.

Take your climate control system off of Auto or change the default fan speed in the vehicle settings.

If your base trim is a 2SS (I don’t know if ZL1s are all 2SS or can be 1SS that’s why I ask) there is a setting in the climate control sub-menu settings where you can adjust the fan speed in auto mode

Check your settings in the DIC like was replied above. I think yours in on Auto and I’m pretty sure that would cause the fan to come on full blast.

In the Infotainment screen:

Settings -> Vehicle -> Climate Control -> Auto Fan Speed -> Low, Medium, or High

Thanks to you all.

This has never happened in any of the cars I have owned previously.

This was pretty weird for me too. I’ve never imagined they would actually design a settable default fan speed for when you’re in auto mode. Every other car with climate control, you press auto and the fan varies from full blast to barely on all by itself.

Hmmm, I might have to look at this to see if there is a setting that effects remote start fan speed.

I can have it on high when on, but w remote start it is on low.

Cannot help there, the man pedal prevents my car from having remote start from the factory.

I jest

It used to be easy to rig a remote start to a manual - just Hotwire the clutch pedal starter interrupt switch.

Now both our clutch and brake pedal send signal to the ECM, and if you Hotwire the brake pedal signal switch the brake lights would stay on all the time

Lay a brick on the brake pedal after you exit
