I don't really think Elite Engineering thought this out thoroughly. They just said the Z06 can fits on the ZL1 but did not make the necessary provisions for a more straight forward install.

Prior to install I looked at mounting the can in multiple places in the engine bay.

Once you get the can in your hands you'll realize real quick that there is no great place to install this. There simply isn't that much room.

The one guy that had a RF CAI installed the can to the side of the filter box, that was the best install location I have seen but I don't think you'll get away with that with many other after market air filters.

I seen that one too, but like you said, no room! I had to get creative. the location on the drivers strut mount, is out of the question for me, (coolant for the charger) so where I have pictured is the really only place available.

I queried EE on finding an alternate mounting location but heard nothing back. Think anything they would come up with would have to be very creative.

Having said that, I'm at 3K miles now and the car hasn't used any oil. But, I also have not tracked, raced, hammered the hell out of it all that much either.
That's good news! I'm very interested in your test results, keep us posted.

The 2-piece bracket works good as shown on my install.

Honestly this is the only place it fits on this car!!
Here is my initial install that had to be redone: https://photos.app.goo.gl/f0DhzomsewlWNWsN2

After redoing the shitty install and throwing lean codes multiple times due to ripped oring, crappy cuts, and loose fittings: https://photos.app.goo.gl/fMRvRI8Mface2WR12

So, is it still installed on the front of the motor? I can see the tube coming from the diverter to where the can was installed in the first photo but that's all that is visible.

I had the oil changed on my GM replacement engine 2 days ago at 800 miles. E2X can installed at 2 miles. The can had 6 oz in it. Working like a charm...

Wait, what? GM replaced the motor in your ZL1? What happened to the first one?

This is our E2-X Ultra can and although it is tight, it fits. You can also mount it off the driverside strut tower mount using a combo bracket:

And what your stopping:

PCV cartridge location you replace with our billet diverter valve:

Hope this helps all. The cooler the location, the better, but these are tight engine compartments. All is the same as the LT4 Z06 except the mount location. And even on the CAI box is another some have done. Them you just drill 2 holes in the box and push bolts through to the C clamp.

Any words about the green sealant seen on the top cover?
Reusable?
Stay with the cover ?
Do we have to make another one?

Send a message via AIM to Fraxum
I have used both locations in past Camaros and even with LTs the OPs location filled the can just as fast as in front of the engine.
