Yeah would be interesting to see 1LE laptimes with the PSCUP 2...probably close to 1s faster...
which would make it crazy close to my C7 GS (1min35.5) at Laguna Secca. And closer at VIR (C7 GS : 2min47 1 LE : 2 min 54)
For the price difference the 1LE is unbeatable... I'm lucky to have both the GS and 1LE in my garage

I ran Cup2s last year. Didnt find them any faster vs stockers. Ditto RE71R. As a matter of fact posted better time on stockers at both Mosport tracks this yr vs last yr on the other tires. Maybe my driving just suites the stockers better. But judging by the laptimes G3s are truly out there performance wise and suit the car perfectly. Experience of others may vary, but i am the fastest on stockers. Imo they are one if the most under rater tires on the market. And the cheapest to boot!

I have run the RE71's (295/30/20's square), the BStones will warm up quicker but the Goodyear G3's are really close in lap times, last a little longer, are cheaper and really work on this car. That being said, I'm looking forward to trying the RE71r's with 305/30/19 square setup.

Here's another comparison that was done at different times. It's worth about as much

There's little doubt that Chevy/GM had requirements for making the G3 work with the 1LE's specific chassis tuning (not just the springs/shocks/struts/sta-bars part of the puzzle). Stuff that probably shows up on a nuance level.

Good to know.

I had similar experience with another car, the PSCUP 2 were not faster....These were not the ZP though, which are totally different than the standard cup 2...

Which cup 2 did you try ?

I agree the G3 are really good and at a good price.

What I like is how close the 1LE is to the ZL1 with 190hp less. Significantly faster in the corners probably

Well said. I think those tires are a perfect match in street category. Slicks of course take it to another level

Regular not run flats. I think they were Benz spec fronts and BMW spec rears or perhaps the reverse cant recall.
Very nice but double the price and the only once of the 3 ive tried to cord.

Zl1 had gone there 26.16
Different day, different circumstances, etc.
And imo 1le wont equal a gt350r with the same driver either. At least based on my experience. Gt350 is no issue but the R is on a next level.

Without the actual telemetry data there are WAY too many factors to blindly assume the SS is significantly faster in the corners. It very well may be much faster in the corners. Or Not faster at all. It may keep close to the ZL1 based more on less/later braking.

Didn't they claim the tires on the 1LE were designed specially, just for the Camaro, Goodyear and GM working together?

Absolutely! And they are Camaro SS 1le and zl1 exclusive and come in one size only. Thats why they are flying completely under the proverbial radar re usual head to head reviews etc.

The 1LE SS is so damned fast!!! The car is mind-blowing. 455HP is enough for me I might do the ethanol blend mod put that is about it.

I started on the Camaro quest back in 1984 with a Z28 with 165 Hp than the 2016 Camaro RS V6 with 335 HP now the 1LE beast!! 455HP. Long live Camaro!
