Might make 5hp when you first put it in but the ECU will tune the fuel to match the air erasing any gains you might get. Same with just installing a CAI. Without tuning it to allow the car to run a little leaner you won't see any permanent gains. Honestly, the tune is probably where 95% of the gain comes from when you put a CAI on and then tune it imho.

A little bit of dirt never hurts you engine because it gets trapped in the oil and then trapped in the oil filter. Yeh the drop in filter is worth the $60 investment. |

In the ultra competitive automotive world if a K&N filter or cold air intake made any real improvement in hp or fuel economy, believe me the factory engineers would use them on every single car. Being able to state a legal, documented claim of just 5 more hp is worth every penny in sales and marketing to a major car company. They’d be standard on everything from Kias to Bugattis.

Plus you will not have to buy any new filters. 5 HP is 5 HP. It's worth it to me.
