Smile New owner question..

Good afternoon everyone!

Had a few questions regarding these pictures...

Is this black box like an active exhaust??

Whats the purpose on these bends on the pipe?

Lastly, can this active exhaust be disabled so it sounds aggressive all the time?

Thanks guys!

You need HpTuners or other programming device to alter the stock program within the FSCM module. You can make the NPP exhaust do whatever you want it to do. My track setting is 100% open

Bends in the pipe? Flattened for clearance is what I think. I changed my exhaust from headers back to the NPP muffler.

That looks like the AFM valve.

If your car has NPP dual exhaust, you can also pull fuse 51 while the NPP is open to have it stay in loud mode all the time without voiding the wattanty. No tune required.

The crush zone in the pipes is for clearance of the vert X brace (one exhaust for both cars).

Gunkk/Bluecamaro6, my car does not have NPP...what would that be? I know Challengers have active exhaust that looks similar to that module..

As Gunkk stated...those are the AFM valves. They close when going into V4 mode, then open back up when in V8 mode.

I know nothing about this (manual trans doesn't have these valves), but this seems to be what you're looking for:
