Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge
If this has already been covered, I apologize for the repeat.
I was watching the Elkhart Lake, WI race this morning... Maybe it is just me, but it kind of bugs me to see Chevrolet and Corvette logos and adds all over the track, but there was not a SINGLE GM product in the race... There were McLaurens, Mercedes, Porsche, BMW, Audi, a Dodge Viper and a shitload of Mustangs... But not a single Camaro or Corvette. Hell, there wasn't even a Cadillac CTS-V or ATS-V in the race. What the hell? Why isn't GM participating in this series? Seems like the natural venue for the ZL1 1LE? Am I the only one bummed out by this? GM

There was a Camaro GT4.R in that series last year, some of Camaro Z28.R in CTSC two or three years ago.
Stevenson was one of loyal users of GM and been CTSC, but they were out last year. Camaro GT4.R only in PWC now. Camaro GT4 is too expensive for its price, so that cause many teams not consider it.

There are two more Camaros in PWC now: Two for Blackdog Speedshop and two for Robinson Racing. They are good cars, but ironically expensive. I say that because, out of all the GT4 cars, the Camaro is one that has of the most factory parts. The car is like a stripped ZL1 1LE, with an LT1 (nearly the same as in the SS), a sequential trans, race diff and some carbon fiber parts. The Mustang GT4 is a better value: cheaper, just as fast (if not faster), and you get a bunch of Ford/Multimatic support. GM has always been weird with non-factory back racing. They need to stop that, be more willing and obtainable from a business standpoint. |

Regarding the Chevrolet and Corvette signs around Road America (and the Corvette Bridge between Turns 5 and 6), they’ve been good supporters of Road America for decades. Regarding Camaros and Corvettes in the IMSA series, all of Chevy’s support seems to be going to the #3 and #4 Corvette Racing cars in the GTLM class; Corvette Racing is currently 2nd in the manufacturers’ standings: https://corvetteracing.com.
GM has sponsored Camaros, Corvettes and Cadillacs in other IMSA classes in the past. I’m sure they think they’re getting more bang for the buck dumping big dollars in the NASCAR program for the Camaros and Chevy engine program in IndyCar. |

and totally ignore sportcar racing. Nascar and Indy are changing, I like current Indycar, and it is better than F1. Caddy in IMSA is going stronger, JDC-Miller has just selected Caddy for their Dpi cars with AXR and WTR in next year although it isn't sure SDR will keep Caddy or not.

By the way, I love the V8 Firebird avatar.
I had a 1987 Formula Firebird that I used to autocross back in college. Loved that car. If GM had not axed the Pontiac division, I would have probably gotten a Gen 5 Firebird instead of the 1LE camaro I got back in 2013.

Looks like Rebel Rock will have a two car effort for 2019:

Continetnal is a support race, not a main race. Those banners are there for the IMSA race, not the Conti race.
