One of my favorite things about the car. Easy to prevent it if you don't like it

Mine only does it during cold temps, which is like for a couple months here.

If you're interested nevertheless, below is a list of threads where this was discussed in detail, although usually by people with pre-refresh cars who do actually want those pops and crackles. The first (highlighted) thread shows what needs to be changed in the tune: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=563618
If the factory 2018 tune had no to little pops and bangs then I don't see why having a dealer flash a MY2018 tune on your newer Camaro would void the warranty. Its still an OEM tune on the exact same engine and they obviously have the ability to do it.

Dealers won't flash software/cals that aren't specific to that exact vehicle because it puts them on the hook if anything goes wrong. It's not as simple as "flash the old stuff" since the old software with current hardware isn't necessarily compatible.

Only way to do it is 3rd party ECU tunes which dealers can see that it's been done and voids warranty, hence the recommendation to get a 2nd ECU to put the tune on so the original ECU is kept in a "clean" state.

I'm an ardent critic of General Motors here for various reasons, but they aren't stupid. The NPP exhaust is a $2000 part, do you think they would risk blowing it and face hundreds, if not thousands of warranty replacements plus a potential class action with a factory tune change that nobody even requested?

I also don't like the crackles and pops of the 2019+ V8 Camaro exhaust, sounds like a Japanese sport car not an American Muscle car

What Chevrolet did in developing a car in this price range as a true drivers "car that does it all" was and still is amazing! It goes from an around town fun car to a great car on a road trip to an awesome confidence building drivers car for the track. But if there was one small thing I would change that is the ability to turn off that bang-bang crackling exhaust!
