I have a bad habit of having left over parts when I do certain things. I was surprised when I put everything back after I did my headers and cats. I call it better being safe than sorry.

Haha right! If you did headers you can definitely do the PC. It comes with detailed instructions. Hardest part is getting the crank bolt out

When I work on my car if I am removing fasteners and such I put them in an old muffin pan, this helps me keep stuff organized and in 1 place for reassembly. Obviously if you are just doing a fresh install it might not be as useful, but you can lay everything out before the install and might help you stay organized.

You can get a magnetic pan to hold all the little stuff. From Harbor Freight or similar place. Did Whipple myself and the instructions left some important things out (at the time) but it worked perfectly.

I haven’t re-read the whole thread, so this may have already been mentioned. I’d also replace the front seal with an ls3 seal.

Ok guys just an update. So I finally got the new build done. 837 whp 719 Tq.

P1-X 12psi, Full E85
ARH 2” catless headers
Katech ported stock heads
Btr trinity
Fore innovations
LPE HPFP, +30’s
Btr stage 2 blower cam.
Forged internals.

The before run was p1-x 9psi,MSD, lt4 stuff with DSX. I was running e30 blend prior to the dyno but had to drop it off with 93. It would’ve probably made another 10-15 whp I’m guessing.

Trying to load the dyno sheet now

Nice info! I'm prob a lot closer to your "before" build. What kind of exhaust are you running? Mainly interested in stock manifolds and cats vs longtubes and no cats, etc... catback (or not-catback?) is not really too relevant IMO.

Also, what compression ratio did you go with your forged?

Another update:

I put it back on the dyno last week for a new tune. It made 837whp 719 TQ originally when I picked it up from the shop that did the work. I put on my buddy’s shop dyno and it baselines at 761 whp with the original tune. After getting a new remote tune I ended up leaving with 874whp 742 Tq. Still 12psi on full e85. I think if we would have pulled it up to 7k it might have got closer to 900whp idk. The fuel system is tapped out and MS started to climb.

Thx JP
