Also, the C8 base model is still very likely to be inferior to the Zl1 now and in the future. With the Zl1 still in existence , I think this negates the idea of an LT5 taking away from the C8 buzz.
It is my guess. Right now it has as much value as any other guess out there. GM has stated that there will be a price increase with the C8. I don't know if it is $10K or $25K. At this point, there are few that do.

1969 used to be my favorite number of car year. I think I will see a lot clearer when it is 2020....

Arguable.... The original ZR1 used the LT1 and so did the Camaro in Z28 trim, the difference being that the LT1 was rated at 370hp in the Vette and 360hp in the Z28. The '71 ZR2 Corvette got the special 454 big block. Even the '69 Camaro ZL1 and '69 Corvette ZL1 shared the same engine.... Who's to say Gm doesn't pull those Vette names out of the bag and make an even crazier ZR2 or ZL1, therefore making plenty of room for an LT5 equipped Camaro.

The original ZR-1 in the C3 was a suspension package though wasnt't it? IIRC you could get the LT1 in a Corvette without the ZR-1 package. In the C4, C6 ZR-1 became a trim/model with unique engine

So I do feel like you could get a Non-ZR1 equipped C3 with the LT-1. Everything I keep reading for the ZR1 states "special purpose" LT-1 engine, although I dont know if there was really a difference. I do see that besides F41 suspension, it received a J56 brake package that was exclusive to the ZR1 as well as a larger aluminum radiator WITH EXPANSION TANK (apparently standard LT-1 equipped cars did not receive those), M22 transmission, Posi differential, and excluded the Radio, Power windows, Power Steering, Air Conditioning, Alarm System and Rear Defroster.
